With over 31 years of experience, Rick Wells began his career with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in 1984, served 21 years with the Florida Highway Patrol, and was the Chief of Police for the Palmetto Police Department from July of 2010 to February of 2015.
He was sworn into office in January and believes that serving the citizens of Manatee County is an incredible privilege and has devoted his life to helping others.
Sheriff Wells is known for his ability to bring the community and law enforcement together and will focus on the good of Manatee County. Let’s get to know the Sheriff!
