America Recycles Day at SandBlast 2016 is an amateur sand sculpture competition that pairs youth teams with local business sponsors to raise funds to support Keep Manatee Beautiful’s programs and events. Keep Manatee Beautiful’s more than 10,000 volunteers make visible differences to our community properties that improves people's quality of life on Anna Maria Island and all of Manatee County through litter cleanup, landscaping and more. This fun family event also celebrates America Recycles Day, the only nationally recognized day (officially on Nov. 15) dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products, so as to create a better natural environment. This year’s Event Sponsor is the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Anna Maria Island Beach Café is the Event Host at its beachfront on Manatee Public Beach. Assemble a team of up to 15 sand sculptors – no experience necessary. It’s just for fun with lots of awards, plus, a pizza party for 1st place winner of each category! Choose one of two divisions: 1) Elementary-Middle School or 2) High School-Adult. Choose one of two themes for your sculpture: 1) Free Form or 2) Wildlife. If you need help with finding a sponsor for the $300 entry fee, contact Keep Manatee Beautiful. The Manatee Chamber of Commerce, a Florida Chamber of Commerce, is located in Bradenton, Florida and serves Anna Maria Island, Bradenton, Bradenton Beach, Ellenton, Holmes Beach, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key, Palmetto, Parrish, and Myakka City.
