Longtime Island Gallery West artist JANE KEELING has been chosen to help kick off the high season as our November Featured Artist with her oils exhibit entitled “Surf’s Up.” A highlight of the month will be the first of the season of monthly public gallery receptions on Friday, November 11 from 5-8 PM, as part of the 10th annual Anna Maria Island artsHOP event. Growing up in Oklahoma watching Gidget movies and listening to Beach Boys' music, Jane appreciates the lifestyle that she now enjoys here in Florida where she paints on location, depicting the universally positive emotions evoked by the beach. As a Contemporary Impressionist Jane's main painting focus is color, light and interesting brushwork. The month-long free exhibit will be presented at Island Gallery West, an artists’ cooperative of 27 local artists. The gallery has been located at 5368 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach, FL on Anna Maria Island for the past 26 years. Gallery hours are 10 AM-5 PM, Mon.-Sat.
