The primary purpose of the Facility Maintenance Manager is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Maintenance in accordance with current, federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Maintenance Director duties include but not limited to facilitating the successful physical operations by performing and supervising the repairs and maintenance (plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, etc.).

General Statement of Duties: Responsible for overseeing maintenance efforts across the Agency. Manages maintenance activities for the upkeep of residential facilities, buildings, landscapes, vehicles, and offices. Will assist and oversees an upcoming capital building project. Oversees a range of custodial and maintenance activities. Must be on-call and available for after-hours emergencies.

Five (5) years of experience in related field. Two (2) years of experience in general building maintenance and basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC to complete repairs. Construction management experience a plus.

  • Responsible for all aspects of Licensing and Inspections in relation to buildings, safety inspections and required staff trainings as mandated by the State of Florida, DCF or other applicable governing entities.
  • Responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of facility policy and procedure as it relates to emergency procedures, alarm tests, etc.
  • Assist with the development, as requested by agency administration and monitoring of facility budgets as they relate to cost efficiency.
  • Perform basic facility maintenance to include both facilities and grounds in order to ensure properties are in a safe and satisfactory condition.
  • Oversee workplace safety program.
  • Oversee projects subcontracted to outside sources to ensure timely completion, cost effectiveness and safety.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license
  • Must be eligible for insurance coverage through agency provider.
  • Must notify supervisor immediately if license becomes invalid.
  • Must be knowledgeable about building codes, construction methods, and project management.
  • Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements.

  • Successfully obtain American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications
