Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for coordinating STEAM, CATCH, and other special programs offered by the Coalition in Manatee County.  (additional information on STEAM and CATCH programs is available at www.elc-manatee.org under Coalition Initiatives)
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide direct services through the STEAM program onsite; operation of agency vehicle in a safe manner; scheduling of sessions; continuing development of the integrated projects presented for child development; maintain consumables for program operations. Create inclusive environments through environmental and program design, accommodation, adaptations, and quality enhancement.
  • Delivery of CATCH curriculum to students in early learning environments; gather outcomes and ensure proper implementation, create inclusive environments through environmental and program design, accommodation, adaptations, and quality enhancement. 
  • Identify community needs and resources related to STEAM, CATCH, and other special programs offered by the Coalition. Analyze training needs of the community, prepare and deliver presentations to meet the community need in relation to STEAM, CATCH, and other targeted programs                                            
  • Attend all meetings, as required in a punctual, professional and contributory manner, complete reports in a timely and comprehensive manner as required.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time salary non-exempt position.  The hours of operation of the Coalition are 7AM-6PM Monday through Thursday, and 8AM-12PM on Fridays.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s level degree or higher in early childhood, special education or related field.
  • Experience working with children birth to five years of ages and their families.
  • Working knowledge of  developmentally appropriate practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
  • Demonstrated lingual, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer skills to include MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend activities.
  • Maintain valid Florida driver’s license plus insurance as required by state.
  • Adhere to all Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County policies and procedures.  
  • Deemed qualified for employment through Level II Background Screening process.  
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated bilingual written and interpersonal communication skills.

Salary Range for the position is $30,000 to $40,000.
