Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The incumbent provides training, technical assistance, assessment, and monitoring services to school readiness providers and parents to promote high quality early learning opportunities for children.  The incumbent provides training, technical assistance, and support in school readiness classrooms/care areas to enhance the development of children’s early literacy skills.  The incumbent provides outreach services to unique populations to ensure awareness of early education and care services.  
  • Assess, monitor and develop quality improvement plans for all funded providers.                             
  • Develop a calendar of activities and training sessions related to early childhood environments and literacy that includes at least 4 hours of large group training per quarter.                                      
  • Identify and refer families who have needs for services, assisting them in locating and acquiring assessment and intervention services for developmental, medical, dental, nutritional and mental health needs of the children.                                                                                                    
  • Provide required records and reports on the assigned schedule.                                                       
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This is a full-time salary non-exempt position.  The hours of operation of the Coalition are 7AM-6PM Monday through Thursday, and 8AM-12PM on Fridays.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; however, any overtime must be approved in advance. A schedule change may be utilized to accommodate evening or weekend work.  
  • Bachelor’s level Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.  
  • Two years of experience in early care and education
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to facilitate instructing, coaching, mentoring
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices as defined by NAEYC
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • English language proficiency
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Maintain schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend activities
  • Maintains valid Florida driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and required auto insurance liability limits
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends, and flexible hours as needed
  • Adhere to all Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County policies and procedures
  • Deemed qualified for employment through Level II Background Screening process
  • Demonstrated Bilingual written and interpersonal communication skills highly desired
  • Master’s Degree in Education
  • Current/Active Teacher Certification
  • Qualified in Program Assessment

Salary Range for the position:  $36,000 - $47,000
