Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide training, technical assistance, assessment, and monitoring services to providers to promote high quality early learning opportunities for families.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct on-site monitoring review of Childcare Providers serving School Readiness and VPK children. Provide consistent desk reviews in the monitoring of School Readiness and/or VPK providers
  • Contract Renewal SR/VPK; onboarding new providers                                                                                                                                                   
  • Provide training and technical assistance childcare providers to promote quality early learning opportunities. 
  • Site Visits for complaints, provisional or probationary contracts; VPK POP Monitoring; VPK Assessment Compliance; database management for provider contracts as assigned                                                                             
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position performs its essential functions both inside and outside the office, visiting the provider in their environment to conduct monitoring and provide technical assistance.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The staff member will on occasion lift items up to 25 lbs. while completing functions.
 
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time salary non-exempt position. The hours of operation of the Coalition are 7AM-6PM Monday through Thursday, and 8 AM – 12 PM on Fridays. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
 
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, special education, or 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility for occasional evening and weekend activities.
  • Maintains valid Florida driver’s license plus insurance as required by state.
  • Adhere to all Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County policies and procedures.  
  • Deemed qualified for employment through Level II Background Screening process.        
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated bilingual (Spanish) written and interpersonal communication skills.
Salary Range $30,500 - $41,000    Starting rate of pay based on experience, generally $15.25 - $17.00
