Job Description
The Manatee County Port Authority is seeking a full-time Communications and Marketing Assistant to become part of its team. The Communications and Marketing Assistant reports to the Senior Communications Manager and assists in the coordination and implementation of media relations strategies and programs as they are related to local, regional, national and port-related interests. This role is an active part of the Communications department. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Assists in creating content for website, social media, brochures, newsletters and presentations • Monitors and manages social media and online presence • Creates and publishes Deepwater newsletter • Creates and publishes internal employee newsletter • Website maintenance • Assists in creation and acquisition of marketing material • Manages press clipping archive and compilation of monthly press clippings summary • Provides event support • Assists in operation of AV equipment during monthly Manatee County Port Authority Meetings QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field and/or a minimum of three years relevant working experience Demonstrated experience working in a marketing or communications position Excellent written and verbal communications skills Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to take initiative, work independently Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Wordpress, and Constant Contact (preferred) Bilingual in Spanish a plus The Manatee County Port Authority, a Governmental Entity, is a Drug-Free Workplace.
