DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for blast off with the Take Stock 5K Space Race in Lakewood Ranch on March 3 at 8 am. Celebrating its tenth year\, the annual event hosts a fun\, family day with runs for both the elite and the fun runner as well as the After Race party with food\, music and activities. One of the largest 5Ks in Manatee County\, funds raised go to college and other post-secondary education scholarships for Take Stock scholars. Here is the schedule: 7:15 Fun Runs for different age groups. Moms\, Dads with strollers are welcome! 8:00 Take Stock 5K 8:10 Mentor Mile   featuring mentors and their mentees Take Stock in Children of Manatee County\, Inc. is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to provide talented\, academically qualified\, at risk students the opportunity for a post-secondary education. Take Stock scholars outperform all Florida students in high school and college graduation rates.
