SUMMARY:2024 Seminar: Building a Strong Culture to Support Mental Health in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Barbara Byrne\, L.C.S.W.\, Clinic Director\, Ellie Mental Health\n\n\n\nThe workplace is often the front line when someone is struggling with mental health issues. Employers have a crucial role to play in promoting mental health and creating a supportive work environment. According to a survey from earlier this year by the National Alliance on Mental Illness\, 74% of full-time employees say it is appropriate to discuss mental health concerns at work\, but only 58% say they feel comfortable doing so. \n\n \n\nWe are often uncomfortable with leaning into the conversation\, worried that "saying the wrong thing" will make matters worse. This presentation will provide insight into the myths of mental health that prevent us from starting the conversation and suggestions for engaging with and guiding someone to seek resources and professional help.\n\n \n\nWhat you will learn:\n\n	How to start a conversation on mental health.\n	How to guide employees to professional resources for mental health.\n	How to strengthen your culture by removing the fear of seeking mental health assistance.\n\n About our Speaker\n\nBarbara Byrne has been a licensed psychotherapist for over 25 years. She has extensive experience working with adolescents\, families and adult individuals. She is professionally trained as a mindfulness instructor in Mindful Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindful Based Stress Reduction. Barbara has also provided services to LGBTQ youth and their families\, with a great deal of experience working with gender fluid and transgender young people. She is sensitive to the diversity of client needs and communication styles\, while incorporating a trauma informed lens in guiding each individual toward their goals.\n\n\n\nReserve your seat(s) today!
