DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Renaissance!\n\n \n\nThe first show of the 2023-2024 season is the musical comedy with a book by John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick and music and lyrics by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Set in 1595\, the story follows the Bottom brothers\, Nick and Nigel\, who struggle to find success in the theatrical world as they compete with the wild popularity of their contemporary William Shakespeare.\n\n \n\n-SOMETHING ROTTEN! opens Thursday\, August 10\, 2023 and is scheduled for a two-week run. The show may be extended if there is a demand.\n\n-Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in mid-June.\n\n\n\nGeneral Information\n\n-Auditions begin at 7 PM each night.\n\n-Actors audition in the order they arrive.\n\n-You should prepare a song in your key and be ready for any movement portion of the audition that the director may require.\n\n-Anyone being called back will be notified that night of the callback time and date. Not being called back does NOT mean that you are not being considered for a role.\n\n-If you wish to submit a video audition\, please email it to Rick Kerby at artisticdirector@manateeperformingartscenter.com. Video submissions must be received no later than Friday\, June 2nd.\n\n-These are non-paid volunteer roles in all shows.\n\n-You must be 13 years of age or older to audition for an adult role.\n\n \n\nAll auditions are held at the Manatee Performing Arts Center\, 502 Third Avenue West in downtown Bradenton\n\n \n\nCommitment\n\nPlease note that by auditioning\, you are obligating yourself to a considerable rehearsal and performance process.
