DESCRIPTION:On Saturday April 23\, 2016 the Hernando De Soto Historical Society and Crewe will invade the City of Bradenton and capture the Key to the City from Mayor Wayne Poston. The invasion will officially kick off the activities of De Soto Festival Week which includes the De Soto Musical and Fashion Show\, the Investiture of Hernando De Soto and the crowning of his Queen at the De Soto Ball and concludes with the spectacular Grand Parade on April 30th.\n\n \n\nThe invasion will begin at 1:30pm when the Crewe of De Soto will board their vessel at Riverhouse Reef and Grill and cross the Manatee River\; arriving at Pier 22 by 1:45pm. Queen Ellie Sharp and Princess Bailey Mosley will be waiting for the Crewe to arrive at Pier 22 along with members of the Sisterhood of the Crown (S.O.T.C.) and the Ladies of the Crewe (L.O.T.C.). The Crewe and their supporters will then proceed to City Hall\, arriving at 2:00pm.
