DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with Florida's recognition of Native American Heritage Month\, the Manatee County Historical Commission will host a presentation by authors and Seminole War historians\, John and Mary Lou Missall\, titled: A Seminole Wars Tour of Florida. Florida's Seminole Wars are often said to be the longest\, costliest\, and deadliest of all the nation's Indian wars\, spanning a period of forty years. For the Seminole people\, it was a fight to remain in their homeland which sadly ended with the removal of 3\,000 Seminole from Florida. The public is welcome to attend the presentation. Seating is limited and on a first-come\, first-served basis.
