DESCRIPTION:The Lighthouse is a nonprofit that provides free training in visual rehabilitation to the blind and visually impaired of all ages in Sarasota\, Manatee\, Highlands\, DeSoto and Charlotte counties. Our mission is to educate and empower those affected by vision loss so they may enjoy happy\, healthy\, and independent lives.\n\nDuring this walk\, the visually impaired will be taken in groups on a walk along the Riverwalk with a volunteer. Volunteers will be stationed throughout Riverwalk to provide guidance. Those that are not visually impaired will join the walk as well. Meeting back at the event pavilion\, participants will be given a cold boxed lunch to sit down and eat with rented tables and chairs that Lighthouse will provide. There will be speakers\, music\, and family friendly fun as well as educational activities for the public that pass by and want to learn more.
