DESCRIPTION:The Penguin Program consists of two projects which involve a musical theater production that casts children and adults with disabilities in all roles. Those individuals (Artists) will get assistance from on-stage peers (Mentors).\n\n \n\nThese Open Houses are FREE and open to the public. You only need to attend one of the four available options.\n\n \n\nParticipants\n\nArtists with Special Needs\n\nThe Penguin Program is open to individuals age 8 and up with a disability. This includes (but is not limited to) Down Syndrome\, cerebral palsy\, autism\, intellectual disabilities\, learning disabilities\, visual impairment\, hearing impairment and neurological disorders.\n\n \n\nPeer Mentors\n\nThe Penguin Program utilizes a peer mentor system linking each artist with an age-level peer who does not have a disability. The peer mentors work side by side with their partners\, assisting them throughout the entire rehearsal process on stage.\n\n \n\nOur Penguins may not be able to fly\, but that doesn't keep their spirits from soaring."
