Join the revolt in this Broadway Junior adaptation of the Tony Award-winning hit!\n\nRebellion is nigh in Matilda JR.\, a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.\n\nMatilda has astonishing wit\, intelligence... and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher\, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing\, however   the school's mean headmistress\, Miss Trunchbull\, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts\, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!\n\nPacked with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs\, Matilda JR. is a joyous girl power romp. Program includes learning how to audition\, rehearsals\, and a minimum of two full-staged performances. Directed by our professional teaching artists and musical directors. One of the primary goals is to build a community of young performers and provide a safe environment for children to develop teamwork skills and confidence in front of a live audience. One show of each camp is provided complimentary for area youth-at-risk as part of the For Kids By Kids program.\n\n\n\nIn addition to building social and communication skills overall\, involvement in drama courses and performance has been shown to improve students' self-esteem as well as their confidence in their academic abilities.
