Description
Have you ever thought of learning to speak Russian? Perhaps you were too intimidated or thought, it's not even a language - just a number of rough sounds?? Well now is your chance to understand what these rough sounds are all about! Join us Saturday afternoons from 12:00pm to 1:30pm to learn the basics of conversational Russian and the Cyrillic alphabet. In addition to discovering new letters and sounds, you'll also learn to introduce yourself in Russian and hold a decent conversation.
It is known that learning a foreign language and alphabet allows you to more deeply understand the culture and mentality of its people. Thus, our classes will not only teach the language basics, but also the basics of Russian culture and mind. Taught by Russian native Alex Morin - Alex moved from Russia to Sarasota a year ago to earn his PhD in Neuroscience. He has lived in multiple countries across Europe and has tried his hand at many languages including French, Finnish, and Chinese. Now he wants to share his culture with other people, starting with this six week series at Goodwill Manasota!
Class will be held on 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22, 4/29, and 5/6 with each lesson building on the material presented in the previous lesson(s). If you are interested in attending these FREE classes, sign up at experiencegoodwill.org/classes.
