The Beach House Waterfront Restaurant will host wine industry legend Sharron McCarthy for a very special dinner on Friday, May 13, 2022. Director Emeritus and Past President of the Society of Wine Educators and former VP of Wine Education at Banfi Vintners,
McCarthy will be presenting some of Castello Banfi’s legendary vintages that will be paired with fare from the popular restaurant. Dating back to the ninth century, Castello Banfi is a family-owned vineyard estate and winery located in Tuscany’s Montalcino region. The estate was founded on the philosophy of blending tradition with innovation and is recognized as a pioneer in elevating the standards of Italian winemaking. Creative Beach House Chefs Shaun Frick and Jeremiah Goode have prepared a masterful menu to illuminate the night’s wines.

• Passed appetizers paired with Banfi Cuvée Aurora Rose Sparkling
• Wahoo Phyllo Poke - Diced Sushi-Grade Gulf of Mexico Wahoo filet, Sesame Oil, Scallion, Ginger
• Seafood Bruschetta - Toasted Ciabatta Bread, Whole Milk Mozzarella Cheese, Heirloom tomato, King Crab, Extra Virgin olive Oil

1st course

• Charcuterie paired with Bolgheri Aska Rosso 2018
• An array of our house-made Charcuterie. House Made Shogun Wild Boar Blueberry and Chipotle Sausages, Buckboard Bacon, Smoked Swordfish Belly Bacon, Pickled Vegetables, Hemp Crisps and Stone Ground Mustard

2nd Course

• Salad paired with Toscana Chardonnay Fontanelle
• A Toscana Chardonnay Fontanelle Poached Red Anju Pear, layered with Gamble Creek Farm oak leaf, green and red butter lettuce, arugula, Roasted Fennel, Montrachet Goat Cheese, and a Toscana Chardonnay Lemon Vinaigrette

3rd Course

• Entree paired with Brunello di Montalcino 2016
• Osso Bucco - Braised Hind Veal Shank Served with a Trio Fromaggi Risotto, Roasted Asparagus, and a Brunello Wine Mushroom Demi-Glace

4th Course

• Dessert paired with Rosa Regale Brachetto d’acqui
• A Jubilee Farm Rosa Regale Panna Cotta

The Forks and Corks Food and Wine Festival is an annual event hosted by the Sarasota-Manatee Originals aimed at promoting dining in local, independently owned restaurants that encourages locals and visitors to always “Eat Like A Local.” The multi-day event held at multiple venues, highlights an esteemed cast of visiting winery owners and winemakers from all over the world.
