Downtown Holmes Beach continues its annual series of ArtWalks from 5:30-7:30 PM on the second Friday of the month this February 9, March 9, and April 13, 2018. Participating art galleries and retail businesses include Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club, Restless Natives, Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island, The Anna Maria Island Art League, Island Gallery West, and SteamDesigns. These locations will feature special exhibits, free refreshments, music and fun for all those who enjoy strolling and shopping in downtown Holmes Beach. Waterline Marina Resort & Beach Club Meet Rhode Island School of Design graduate and tromp l’oiel muralist Cory Wright who is well known for her plein air oil paintings of local land- and seascapes. Light refreshments will be served. 5325 Marina Drive Restless Natives Restless Natives offers gift and home decor items and the art work of a number of local artists. 5416 Marina Drive Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island ArtWalk visitors are welcome to come meet and visit with The Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island’s February Featured artist, painter and sculptress Wendell Graham. Local art, jewelry, baskets, gifts and more can be found in this all-volunteer, nonprofit guild. Refreshments will be offered. 5414 Marina Drive The Anna Maria Island Art League The Art League of Anna Maria Island will exhibit the 24th Annual James Pay "Appreciation and Celebration of the Human Form." The Anna Maria Island Art League will present their first exhibit of nude works of art.This carefully curated show will be juried and will feature a special exhibit by Richard Thomas in the Art League’s foyer. The AMI Art League is a nonprofit arts organization with more than 25-year history on the island. Regular hours are M/W/F 10 am – 2 pm. 5312 Holmes Boulevard Island Gallery West Island Gallery West will feature Joanna Karpay’s oil and pastel paintings in an exhibit entitled “The Color of Sunlight.” Many of the gallery’s 29 artists will be on hand at the ArtWalk to celebrate Island art and share complimentary refreshments with visitors and enjoy live Blue Grass music. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Sunday. 5368 Gulf Drive SteamDesigns SteamDesigns will feature original artworks of Bradenton Beach-based Caleb Roberts whose work varies from graphic aquatic designs to varied fauna studies and the surrounding island waters. Refreshments and light bites will be offered.
