Downtown Holmes Beach continues its annual series of ArtWalks from 5:30-7:30 PM on the second Friday of the month this March 10, and April 14, 2017. Participating art galleries and retail businesses include Anna Maria Island Art League, Artists’ Guild of AMI, Island Gallery West, SteamDesigns, Restless Natives, Vintage Beach, and Saltair. These locations will feature special exhibits, free refreshments, music and fun for all those who enjoy strolling and shopping in downtown Holmes Beach. The Anna Maria Island Art League The Art League will present their Black & White Juried Exhibit and Public Reception. The AMI Art League is a nonprofit arts organization with more than 25-year history on the island. Regular hours are M/W/F 10 am – 2 pm. 5312 Holmes Boulevard Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island The work of Margie Amberge, photographer, and Polly Tetrault, who paints in a post-impressionistic style using encaustics, pastels and oils, will be celebrated in the month of March. The public is invited to meet them at the Guild’s ArtWalk reception. Local art, jewelry, baskets, gifts and more can be found in this all-volunteer, nonprofit guild. 5414 Marina Drive Island Gallery West Candace Bennington will present oil and pastel paintings of local scenes and favorite spots on Anna Maria Island in her March Featured Artist Exhibit, “On The Island." Many of the gallery’s 29 artists will be on hand at the ArtWalk to celebrate Island art and share refreshments with visitors. Regular hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. 5368 Gulf Drive SteamDesigns SteamDesigns of Holmes Beach will feature original artworks by Bradenton based Edana Davis. www.EdanaArt.com. The public is invited to meet Edana, enjoy fine art, refreshments and light bites. SteamDesigns is a digital arts studio specializing in high-end giclée reproductions — up to five feet wide — for artists and photographers. 5343 Gulf Drive, # 600 Restless Natives Restless Natives will feature Karen Prunier - local pottery artist; Patricia Clarke, offering a hot glass demo; Glenna Walton - transforming up-cycled fabrics and embellishing shells with vintage jewels and sweet sayings; and local author, Ricko Donovan doing a book signing for his new novel "The Muse's Muse." Restless Natives offers gift and home decor items and the art work of a number of local artists. 5416 Marina Drive Vintage Beach Owner/artist Joseph Hutchinson will showcase his expanded and rebranded shop, Vintage Beach. Hutchinson, a Ringling School of Art student and pupil of Marilyn Bendell and George Burrows, has crafted his eye for color in his paintings and with his repurposed furniture and driftwood sculptures — all of which will be on display for the 2017 season’s ArtWalks. Regular hours are 10 am - 5 pm Mon.-Sat., and Noon - 5 pm on Sundays. 5500 Marina Drive Saltair Proprietor Teressa Burgess has more than two decades experience in buying, and an eye for the new and unique. Her shop features women’s clothing, jewelry, and household decor. The shop’s walls display art by local artist and resident Kim Darnell. Darnell’s work captures the essence of sea life on Anna Maria Island. Saltair ships all over the country, and Darnell can be commissioned to create a painting at customers' request. 5508 Marina Drive
