Every Monday-Saturday. Closed Sundays S. RUSH DEAN, Bradenton acrylics and oils artist, has been named Featured Artist for September at Island Gallery West. Ms. Dean enjoyed a 20-year career teaching design, drawing and color theory at the University of Maryland and Design at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C. Ms. Dean is also a longtime member of Island Gallery West and is well known in both Manatee and Sarasota counties for her compelling land and beachscapes. The theme of her exhibit is ?Water World." Island Gallery West, located at 5368 Gulf Dr., Holmes Beach, is a co-operative of 23 local artists offering original, affordable fine art. Mediums available include watercolor, acrylic, oil and mixed-media paintings, ceramics, cigar box guitars, jewelry, photography, stained glass and greeting cards.
