Description
Manatee Children's Services (MCS) is proud to announce its 50th anniversary “Waves of Hope: Cheers to 50 Years” gala, a milestone celebration commemorating five decades of hope, healing, and advocacy for children and families throughout Manatee County. The gala will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2027, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the newly opened Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA) in Sarasota.
As one of the most anticipated community events of the year, the gala will bring together business leaders, philanthropists, community advocates, and supporters for an unforgettable evening celebrating the organization's legacy and investing in its future.
The event's prestigious venue adds special significance to the evening. Located in Sarasota's rapidly growing University Town Center corridor, Mote SEA serves as a world-class destination for marine science, conservation, and education. Hosting the gala within this state-of-the-art facility provides guests with a unique and immersive experience while offering sponsors exceptional visibility among influential community members and regional leaders.
"For 50 years, Manatee Children's Services has been a source of safety, healing, and hope for children facing abuse, neglect, trauma, and family crisis," said CEO Melinda Thompson. "This gala not only celebrates the lives changed over the past five decades, but also helps ensure that future generations of children receive the protection and support they deserve."
The evening will feature inspiring stories of resilience and transformation, community recognition, entertainment, dining, and opportunities to support the mission of protecting vulnerable children. Proceeds from the gala will directly fund critical programs that help children heal from trauma and build brighter futures.
In recognition of this significant milestone and premier venue, sponsorship opportunities are now available. Sponsors will receive valuable exposure before, during, and after the event through marketing materials, digital promotions, event recognition, and engagement with a distinguished audience of community and business leaders from across the region.
Early bird tickets are available through December 1, 2026, at $175 per person or $325 per couple. After December 1, tickets will be $200 per person and $375 per couple.
Manatee Children's Services also welcomes volunteers interested in helping support this landmark event and its mission to protect children and strengthen families.
