Description
Join us at Station 2 Innovation in Bradenton for a Network & Learn Event, Women in Tech. Information, Inspiration, & Why the Industry Needs You. Tameika Reed, Founder of Women in Linux, talks about the challenges and opportunities for women in technology. A self-taught Linux Administrator since 2000, she shares her unique insights as a pioneer black woman in the information technology field and how she founded and runs Women in Linux for the benefit of not just women, but the tech community as a whole. Many theories exist on why there are not more women in the technology sector, but after interacting with Tameika, you'll walk away with enthusiasm and appreciation for what a career in tech can offer you. Cindy Bates, VP at Microsoft, explains that we need to do a better job of exposing women to technology-related jobs. So come on out and hear what you're missing! Join us at Station 2 Innovation and discuss this topic in depth or attend one of our other great talks: www.station2innovation.com/events or http://bcsrq.com/events/ Arrive early for 5p -6:15p business networking where Station 2 Innovation provides lite fare and free wine/beer thanks to their sponsors at White Sands Realty Group.
