Job Summary:
Analyzes, compiles, reconciles, coordinates and records various data for accounting, performing the following duties.
Job Description
Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
- Analyzes and reconciles various accounts to the General Ledger including but not limited to A/R, Payroll, Benefits, Payables, Receipts, Accruals, Deferrals, Assets and Liabilities.
- Updating documentation of procedures related to grants and the reconciliation processes as assigned.
- Perform monthly grant reconciliations.
- Organize and maintain administrative files on each grant.
- Create monthly reports for distribution to each grant financial director.
- Assist in financial review of grant proposals and gathering financial information for grants.
- Implement and maintain grants module in Banner to include month end closing process for that module.
- Acts as a liaison between Finance and Grants Management/Institutional Effectiveness.
- Coordinates and communicates with relevant personnel to correct records, resolve discrepancies, and promote process improvements.
- Prepares monthly journal entries and financial reports as required.
- Prepares routine billings to the SCF Foundation, including Foundation Scholarship. Acts as a liaison between Finance, Financial Aid and Foundation to resolve discrepancies.
- Assist Assistant Controller and Senior Accountant with grant related issues as well as financial reporting requirements relating to the two Collegiate Schools.
- Assists with various audit requests by providing information, schedules and reports.
- Acts as a backup for staff accountants. Provides support to the Director of Finance/Controller, Assistant Controller, Manager of Financial Services, and / or Senior Accountant as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business from an accredited university and two or more years of related experience; OR equivalent combination of education or experience. Advanced Excel spreadsheet experience required. ·
One or more years as a “lead” employee with responsibility of training new employees and assisting others with problems.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience with Banner Finance module preferred. Experience with Banner HR/PR and/or Grants module a plus.
