Fiscal Technician I

JOB SUMMARY The Fiscal Technician I will perform specialized clerical work, which may include cash receipt/disbursement functions and payables processing. Work involves the application of clerical skills to varied tasks, such as invoice posting, checking entries, account coding, balancing accounts, preparation of estoppels, verifying information on records and documents, and the maintenance of fiscal records. Communications with staff, vendors, residents, and Board members are an essential function. Enjoy a great work/life balance with our four day - ten hour work week. FISCAL TECHNICIAN I MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate or equivalent GED. Minimum two (2) years of experience with fiscal-related duties. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Must be punctual; regular attendance is required. Must maintain a valid Florida driver’s license. Successful completion of a background check. FISCAL TECHNICIAN I KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Knowledge of general accounting and administrative practices and procedures. Knowledge of proper business communications. Knowledge of modern office equipment, practices, and procedures. Must be skilled in computer operations and pertinent software applications, including the Microsoft Office suite of products. Must possess good organizational skills. Must be able to work as part of a team and foster a positive work environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and demands. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written. Ability to exercise good judgment and to make independent decisions in accordance with established department policies and procedures. FISCAL TECHNICIAN I ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receives, records, and deposits cash receipts; prepares daily tabulations and reports of cash receipts; distributes receipts to proper funds; assists with bank deposits or reconciliation reports. Classifies receipts and disbursements in accordance with established codes, referring questionable allocations to supervisors, and prepares summary sheets as required. Processes purchase requests and payments to vendors. Addresses invoicing and payment issues by responding promptly to inquiries from departmental staff, vendors, and the general public ensuring a high level of customer service. Performs data entry and standard report generation in financial or management information systems. May review the work of others to verify the accuracy of data entry and make necessary corrections. Compiles data and prepares a variety of routine reports using simple spreadsheets, finance systems, and/or specialized management information. May perform non-accounting clerical and secretarial duties in addition to normal fiscal responsibilities including responding to information requests, preparing correspondence, filing, ordering supplies, and assisting others. Responsible for professional and courteous working relationships with all IDA employees, District Supervisors, and HOA Directors. Responsible for prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all customers and other outside agencies or vendors. Perform all other duties as assigned or needed. FISCAL TECHNICIAN I WORKING HOURS Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
