Job Summary: This position is responsible for guiding and engaging students in meaningful experiential learning opportunities focusing on internships, employment readiness, and career planning. The Internship Coordinator maintains all experiential learning data and systems and provides timely feedback to stakeholders. Works closely with Department Chairs and Program Managers to enhance experience learning initiatives (ELI) opportunities for students. Works under the leadership of the Assistant Dean of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development to strengthen employer business connections for internship placements; as well as facilitates communication between employers and the college to understand employer’s needs. Develops internship training and orientation, ensuring students are fully prepared to begin an industry or on-campus placement. Participates in the recruitment and retention activities of students for experiential learning opportunities. Job Description Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Advises students, faculty, and staff on experiential learning opportunities to promote successful experiences for all students. 2. Assists students with internship preparedness and placement, including addressing job readiness competencies (per the National Association of Colleges and Employers), internship search strategies - on and off campus, resume/cover letter/job application preparation, and interview coaching. 3. Develops and presents internship training and orientation, ensuring students are fully prepared to begin an industry or on-campus placement. Provides comprehensive guidance to students throughout the entire experiential learning process. 4. Tracks, documents, and analyzes data related to regional industry needs and all aspects of experiential learning. Provides periodic statistical reports detailing internship placement. 5. Designs, coordinates, and delivers presentations and events that support the mission of Experiential Learning. 6. Collaborates with faculty and staff in college-wide and community events that promote experiential learning, internships, and career readiness. 7. Serves on Industry Advisory Councils and promotes internships. Serves as a college liaison to business and industry partners in expanding internship opportunities. 8. Works under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development to strengthen employer business connections; as well as facilitates communication between employer and college. 9. Conducts routine internship site visits to ensure student success, as well as receive feedback from employer partners. 10. Proactively seeks out and utilizes State College of Florida approved technology that promotes effective experiential learning and internship preparedness. 11. Provides website content management for experiential learning programs. 12. Serves on College-wide committees and industry councils as assigned. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications · Education/Experience: A Baccalaureate degree, from a regionally accredited institution in related field and 3-5 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; preferably a community college. Preferred Qualifications Prior coordination and/or management experience of an internship program preferred. Leadership experience preferred.
