Job Summary: The Digital Production Manager is responsible for the College’s digital communications and community relations presence in support of the College’s communications and strategic plan. This position will be responsible for the creation, management, and evaluation of digital content using photography, videography and new media. We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated individual. The ideal candidate should be creative and have extensive knowledge of social media platforms and videography.
Job Description
Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
1. Works with the Associate Vice President of Communications and Government Relations to develop and implement a digital communications and community outreach plan for the College that supports its communications and strategic plan goals.
2. Works with the Associate Vice President of Communications and Government Relations to coordinate policies and procedures for digital communications. Safeguards adherence to the College's digital communication procedures.
3. Designs, develops, writes, and manages social media content and communication plan for the institution and its stakeholder's use. Updates, monitors, and tracks effectiveness of social media channels.
4. Develops, edits and maintains visual assets and interactive media, including video, podcasts, graphics, images and adaptations of printed designs for digital communication use. Manages use of original artwork or adaptation of printed designs to produce digital interactive media.
5. Keeps informed of emerging technologies, new media and social media and how they can be used for College communication and to support community outreach goals. Understands copyright laws related to video and audio usage.
6. Works with IT Web Team on analytical tools to present reports on digital communication activity and to provide actionable insights; proficient in search engine optimization.
7. Collects usability surveys, data and best practices on web digital communications and social media use and makes assessments and recommendations.
8. Supervises and manages Communications and Government Relations interns and student employees for digital productions, including videography, social media, photography and graphic design.
9. Provides consultation and guidance to departments and offices in planning and creating new digital, web, and social media content and maintaining existing content and communications.
10. Leads a group of SCF social media team. Serves as an additional administrator on all SCF social media sites.
11. Develops web and new media initiatives as needed to meet the changing outreach and communications needs of the College.
12. Lead on technical side of campus tour(s) along with Associate Vice President of Communications and Government Relations .
13. Uses content management system to update SCF-affiliated digital media platforms.
14. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
15. Responsible for photography and videography when professional photographer and/or videographer is not hired.
16. Works with IT department to ensure consistent digital presence for the College.
17. Uses cellular telephone or tablet for social media activity.
18. Works outside the typical workday to assist media in making deadlines or supporting the Department at special events, including graduation. 19. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Communications and Government Relations.
Minimum Qualifications
· Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and three years’ related experience.
· Supervisory Experience: One or more years of experience as a “lead” employee, with responsibility for scheduling and assigning work, training new employees, and assisting others with problems as required.
