String Orchestra Director

Bradenton Christian seeks qualified, committed Christian candidates for the position of Strings Orchestra Director, who will faithfully support Bradenton Christian School’s mission statement to prepare the hearts and minds of God’s covenantal children in partnership with the home and church for service in God’s world. We’re seeking an outstanding professional who has the ability to instruct string students in 5th-12th grade and can successfully direct stringed instrument performers including beginners, intermediate, advanced, soloists, ensembles, and conduct evaluations. It is the teacher’s responsibility to carry out the policies of the School Board as they relate to the function of the school, to the classroom, and to their association with students and parents. Required Skills and Abilities: A clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior with active participation and regular worship in a local Christian church is required along with the following: • Bachelor's Degree or higher, Music Major, Strings required, piano skills a plus. • Eligibility for a FL Teaching Certificate, Teaching Certificate Preferred. • Two years of classroom teaching experience in a school setting preferred. • Experience with FOA District and State Solo & Ensemble and other MPA events. • Able to teach pedagogy for beginning strings students. • Ability to manage budgets, scheduling, and personnel. • Ability to teach music theory, beginning to advanced. • Knowledge of state, district, and FMEA policies governing music activities. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be a team player with a desire to help and serve others. • Effectively communicate and collaborate with parents, students, and teachers. • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite. • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
