General Maintenance Technician I

About the Position The Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority (IDA) is seeking a reliable and motivated General Maintenance Technician I to join our Operations team on December 1, 2025. This position plays an important role in maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the Lakewood Ranch Community Development Districts. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in keeping community spaces clean and well-maintained. The position emphasizes general maintenance, pressure washing, assisting with electrical tasks with occasional duties in park services, Town Hall upkeep, and assisting with utility tasks. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. Key Responsibilities Perform pressure washing of sidewalks, curbing, monuments, buildings, and other District assets. Conduct sign repair and painting of community features. Monitor and maintain perimeter access gates and assist with lighting and irrigation system repairs. Support park services and Town Hall maintenance, including cleaning, trash removal, restocking supplies, and event setup. Participate in the emergency on-call rotation for issues such as gate or irrigation problems, Town Hall access, or other infrastructure emergencies. Maintain department tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working order. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, professional work environment. Provide courteous and timely service to residents, staff, and vendors. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. At least two (2) years of related maintenance experience or training. Valid Florida driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Successful completion of a background check. Consistent attendance and punctuality are required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Skilled in the operation of pressure washing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and small engine equipment. Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 80 pounds as needed. Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach overhead during daily tasks. Able to safely use mild cleaning chemicals (bleaches, detergents). Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Demonstrates good judgment and problem-solving skills. Capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions Outdoor work environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and other weather conditions. Requires adherence to safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment. May involve working near traffic or excavation sites. Moderate noise levels. Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (40 hours/week) Overtime: May be required; position is eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate.
