Public Works Maintenance Worker
The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance in all areas of the city including, but not limited to painting, hauling, landscape maintenance, caretaking of city buildings, operating equipment and vehicles, for construction and maintenance of City property and equipment.
• Must possess a variety of skills to complete a variety of tasks required by a general maintenance position
• Must have detailed knowledge of material and equipment with which to complete maintenance
• Landscape experience preferred
• Ability to be able to operate heavy equipment, such as an excavator, skid steer, grade tractor, and loader preferred
• Basic computer skills preferred
• Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
• CDL license preferred
• Must be able to pass a background check, driving check, and drug screen
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including seasonally hot temperatures and high humidity
• May work with chemicals, vapors, dust and exhaust
• Ability to lift, carry or shovel objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to manipulate and move heavy materials, equipment and supplies
• Ability to climb on to large equipment
• Ability to operate a variety of industrial tools and machinery
• Ability to work around equipment that generates noise, vibration and heat
Position Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $21,000 - $40,000/year
