Visit our for benefit details. Job Summary: Performs responsible and advanced work in the processing of college benefits. Reconciles, calculates, and troubleshoots benefit premium errors and corrections for all college benefit eligible employees and retirees. Processes benefit plans, enrollments, and terminations in accordance with state, federal and college policies. Works collaboratively with other members of the HR team and provides exceptional internal and external service to all customers. Maintains highly confidential information, including benefit, medical and retirement documents. Job Description Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Provides administrative support to the Benefits Coordinator and ensures benefit materials are up to date in MYSCF and on the benefit web pages. 2. Assists with new hire employee orientation preparation and ensures new hires enroll in benefits within the allocated time period. 3. Enters and maintains enrollment and termination paperwork for all employees including Affordable Care Act processing and COBRA, within restrictive time frames. Updates premium and member changes timely into database and calculates catch up contributions and refunds for employees and retirees and trouble shoots issues as required, while collaborating with Payroll. Ensures accurate payroll deductions and notifies employees, as appropriate regarding changes and/or a resolution. 4. Performs reconciliations of invoices and billing errors both manually and in the online benefit enrollment system and benefit billing portal, working collaboratively with the payroll department to troubleshoot, as necessary. 5. Responsible for tracking Retirement Enhancement Plan termination dates, coordinates continuation of benefits and works with retirees to set up payment options. Tracks termination of ADD benefit for employees and retirees at age 70. 6. Reconciles monthly retiree benefit payments received from FBMC. Provides the Cashiering office with a list of retiree payments and liability accounts for processing. Monitors the retiree delinquency report received from FBMC. 7. Reviews bi-weekly payroll discrepancy report identifies issues and works with payroll to make corrections as required. 8. Tracks expenses, monitors benefit budget, processes purchase requisitions and encumbrances, and other payments as required. 9. Provides support to benefit fair preparation, vendor visits, open enrollment, and informational meetings to assist employees and retirees in the management of their benefit options. 10. Processes workers compensation claims with vendor and works collaboratively with Public Safety on obtaining incident reports. Tracks incidents received by Public Safety and follows up with employee to determine if pursuing workers compensation. Provides updates to Benefits Coordinator. 11. Assists with processing disability and life insurance claims, including notification to the vendor when the employee has returned to work. 12. Responsible for scanning benefit documents into employee electronic personnel file. 13. Provides front desk functions and administrative support to the Employment function, as needed. 14. Assists the Benefits Coordinator with the College Sick Leave Pool open enrollment eligibility and employee and committee notifications, processing of Employee Dependent Scholarship applications and provides administrative support for the Wellness Program. 15. Must be certified annually for HIPAA Compliance. PHI Level: Full access to PHI. 16. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications · Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications Accounting and/or payroll experience preferred.
