IT Technician duties and responsibilities Conduct Scripting and Automation Workstation Support: Install, configure and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, related technology systems, networks, printers, monitors, mice, keyboards, cell phones, scanners, and other related IT equipment. Conduct remote monitoring and maintenance (RMM) using provided software. Establish and coordinate regular maintenance activities for hardware and software. Develop and maintain local networks and internet Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems Work with external vendors and consultants effectively to resolve support issues and complete tasks Participate in infrastructure, security, and project activities Develop technical support documentation for IT and end users Install, configure and manage software and their functions according to specifications Assist in and plan training, development, and education for new software and hardware Troubleshoot to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes Conduct return merchandise authorization (RMA) on hardware and warrantied devices? Maintain hardware and software inventory Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders when necessary Proactively learn new skills and gain new knowledge as needed to fulfill job responsibilities, including building a knowledgebase on current projects Identify and implement opportunities for improvement Other duties as assigned IT Technician Preferred Knowledge and Skills Previous working experience as IT Technician for two (2) years Assoc Degree in IT or similar relevant field Desktop scripting experience is required. Must have knowledge of Powershell and Batch scripting languages and demonstrate competencies in being able to generate automated tasks or services. Experience creating support documentation is required. Experience with networking, Wi-Fi, and connecting devices to file and application servers. Experience with remote support and collaboration tools. Proficiency with MS Office, MS Outlook, and other desktop applications. Hands on experience with diverse computer systems and networks, including Windows and Mac OS. In depth knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles Experience supporting mobile devices Experience entering/tracking tickets in helpdesk systems Competencies Self-starter Strong customer service skills Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Problem solver and attention to details. Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks and work independently with little supervision Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Outstanding organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently, and in teams, to consistently meet commitments Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment Effective at coordinating several simultaneous tasks and activities independently Utilizes proactive approach to issues and problem solving Desire and motivation to learn new skills and expand knowledge to improve job performance and self-improvement Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels Strives for excellence and upholds organizational standards such as cooperation and confidentiality Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Work environment: This job operates in a hybrid environment where you will start in an office, and then segue into remote-based work, as well as potentially require travel to onsite locations (typically within one (1) hour drive from home office). Travel may be expected but not exceed 15% of work time. Federal mileage allowance for work-related travel. Working Salary: Negotiable on experience.
