Project Manager - Communications and Marketing Top Message The Project Manager – Communications and Marketing is responsible for managing all aspects of the production process and ongoing maintenance for all customer-facing marketing collateral and assets, and as-needed, internal communications, including management of CAM personnel. The Project Manager – Communications and Marketing will work closely with stakeholders, internal resources, external agencies, and suppliers to execute project objectives – assessing project and resource requirements, developing production schedules, and working to ensure quality, on-time delivery within budget. Job Description Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all the following duties: 1. Handles intake and processing of creative services requests including graphics, photography and videography. Develops and implements production plans; analyzing customer trends; managing information and measuring progress on tasks, projects, and goals; and performing related activities. 2. Logs requests in to production schedule in cooperation with the Marketing Manager, creates/updates timelines for each request and updates status throughout the production process. 3. Prepares job specifications and requests for quotes with outside printing, mailing, promotional and other for requested projects. 4. Provides managerial oversight of the department's annual production calendar with particular focus on recurring projects; responsible for maintaining calendar, deadlines and measuring internal effectiveness. 5. Edits and proofreads publications and communication materials to ensure content meets established design criteria. 6. Consults with clients and determines specific needs and goals, develops and tracks production, responsible for project budgets and deadlines, ensures completion of requests including submission to vendor, delivery to client, and approving and receiving completed collateral. 7. Manages the department's participation in special event projects, which often take place outside normal business hours, including actively participating on committees as assigned, directing and coordinating the event photographer, videographer and other vendors as appropriate. 8. In collaboration with the Associate Vice President, assists in preparing department budget. Monitors assigned accounts and manages projects to work within budget. Works with executive assistant II on tracking payments and monitors account balances and works with vendors on discrepancies. 9. Provides oversight of outside contractors and vendors. 10. Develops and completes reports and provides analysis as requested. 11. Supervises, coaches and evaluates communications and marketing staff. 12. Assumes leadership of the Communications and Marketing Department in the absence of the Marketing Manager and Associate Vice President. 13. Works outside the typical workday to assist College in making deadlines for select projects or supporting the department at special events, including graduation. 14. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field (marketing/communications) and five years of professional experience in project management, marketing and communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional writing skills in different styles (i.e., reporting, feature writing, expository, and persuasive). Demonstrated proficiency in the use of project management principles, graphic design principles and software applications and basic website design principles. The ability to think strategically and meet challenges both independently and as part of a team and work efficiently in a moderately-to-extremely busy office environment. • Supervisory Experience: At least two years of direct supervisory experience including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, training and coaching is required. Preferred Qualifications • Certificates and Licenses: Membership in public relations or business communicators association preferred.
