Title: Business Operations Manager

Salary: $ 41,000-53,000, 100% FTE (40 hours/week)  
Responsible to: Executive Director
 
Objectives: 
The Business Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director and oversees all business tasks for the Manatee County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition dba Drug Free Manatee, a 501(c)(3). The Business Operations Manager assists with daily oversight and effective operation of staff, organization projects, and budget meetings. The Business Operations Manager drafts reports and maintains financial documentation at the direction of the Executive Director. Must embody and advocate for the mission, vision, and strategic direction of Drug Free Manatee
 
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, public health, health administration, social work, or related program
  • Two (2) or more years of non-profit operations experience
  • Experience with grant writing, program management, finance coordination, administrative support, and human resources  
  • Previous supervisory experience required
 
Responsibilities:
  • Embody and advocate for the mission, vision, and strategic direction of Drug Free Manatee
  • Facilitate board and committee meetings, including agenda development, board actions, updates, reports, etc.
  • Assists the Board with the preparation of the annual budget for the Board to ensure proper allocation of costs, reasonable and necessary expenses, and efficient use of resources
  • Work with the Executive Director and Treasurer to ensure that all revenue and costs are captured in the correct general ledger accounts on the financials
  • Review all financials and produce timely, accurate, and regular reports; recommend any corrections or changes to the Treasurer
  • Coordinate with the Treasurer and the Executive Director to ensure compliance of fiscal accounting with state and federal requirements under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Assist the Executive Director with strategic planning, community collaborative efforts, funding expansion through grants, private funding, and exploration of revenue streams
  • Manage all grant deliverables and payment requests
  • Support the Executive Director
  • Manage the resources and ensure adherence to the budget
  • Answer staff questions regarding benefits, pay, operations, etc., and escalate concerns to the Executive Director
  • Maintain inventory of all programs, software, and hardware for Drug Free Manatee staff
  • Order supplies and equipment for staff
  • Cover Executive Director duties and responsibilities as required
  • Assist with the completion or delegation of other tasks as assigned by Drug Free Manatee staff, the Executive Director, or The Board of Trustees
