SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Recruitment Director is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, daily operations, and performance of SunCoast Blood Centers’ three core donor recruitment platforms: the Contact Center, Mobile Recruitment, and the Concierge Program. This role plays a vital part in ensuring SunCoast meets and exceeds its blood collection goals by developing and executing innovative recruitment strategies, optimizing scheduling and labor usage, and fostering strong relationships with the community and donor base. The Director supervises leadership within each recruitment area and ensures alignment with organizational objectives, donor satisfaction, and operational excellence. The position requires strong mentoring capabilities, the ability to meet aggressive deadlines, and the foresight to plan recruitment calendars a minimum of 90 days in advance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Healthcare Management, or related field required. Master’s preferred. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in recruitment, donor relations, community engagement, sales, or business development, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or director-level role. Skills and Abilities: Proven leadership and team-building skills. Ability to develop data-driven strategies and manage multi-channel operations. Excellent communication and public speaking abilities. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Drivers License LEGAL AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Florida Compliance: Ensure adherence to Florida’s labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination laws, and workplace safety standards. Privacy and Data Protection: This role requires strict adherence to HIPAA and Florida privacy laws. Employees must complete annual privacy training and ensure all sensitive donor information is handled in compliance with applicable regulations. Background Check and Drug Screening: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug testing, as required by the Florida Drug-Free Workplace Act. Candidates must maintain compliance with SunCoast Blood Centers’ drug-free policies throughout their employment. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity is necessary for using a mouse, keyboard, telephone/headset, and other standard office equipment. Ability to travel frequently to community blood drives and SunCoast Blood Centers Fixed Sites. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent computer use. Occasional lifting of marketing materials and equipment (up to 30 lbs.). Environmental Requirements: Standard office and mobile/fixed site environments with moderate noise levels. Frequent travel to mobile blood drives, schools, businesses, and fixed donation sites. Regular exposure to outdoor conditions, including heat, rain, and seasonal weather variations, particularly during mobile recruitment events. Regular proximity to donors and blood products with moderate exposure to bloodborne pathogens and biohazard materials; adherence to all safety and infection control protocols is required. JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Oversight: Provide direction and mentorship to managers of the Contact Center, Mobile Recruitment, and Concierge Program. Guide team leads to cultivate new ideas and expand donor engagement efforts. Ensure departmental alignment with strategic organizational goals. Train and enhance the leadership capabilities of department heads. Strategic Planning & Execution: Create and execute targeted recruitment plans for each platform. Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Donor Services teams. Forecast future blood supply needs based on site capacity and donor availability. Ensure a mobile drive calendar is built at least 90 days out. Ensure that all donor centers are recruited to meet or exceed their daily and monthly goals for red blood cells (RBCs) and platelets (PLTs). Appointments must be strategically spaced per donor center to maximize operational capacity, donor satisfaction, and efficiency in meeting collection targets. Performance Management: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including contact-to-conversion rates, drive booking productivity, and donor retention. Ensure the Contact Center meets required booking metrics to support ongoing blood product supply and inventory demands. Ensure the @Home Concierge Program strategically books specialized blood products (e.g., platelets, double red cells) based on organizational need and hospital requirements. Conduct regular performance analysis to identify gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Provide mentorship and development for new recruitment leads to build a high-performing recruitment pipeline. Provide oversight for all specialized Contact Center functions, including Low Titer O recruitment, daily platelet collections, rare donor scheduling, and conversion of first-time and lapsed donors. Operational Excellence: Maintain efficient scheduling and routing for mobile and concierge appointments. Oversee labor usage, budget management, forecasting, and reporting. Monitor donor satisfaction and ensure high service quality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Community & Relationship Building: Strengthen relationships with schools, businesses, and organizations. Assist account managers in their regional recruitment efforts. Develop partnerships and cultivate community donor relationships. Deepen partnerships with high schools and assist in converting leads to active clients.
