Summary The Front of House (FOH) Manager is the heartbeat of our guest experience. If you love hospitality and truly love people, this is where you belong. Core Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Excellence Deliver superior guest service and ensure consistent satisfaction. Act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns and resolve issues promptly. Respond to customer reviews and implement corrective action plans when necessary. Represent the organization as a Brand Ambassador at all times – inside and outside the four walls Team Leadership & Development Recruit, hire, and onboard FOH staff. Train, coach, and evaluate team performance to maintain high service standards. Organize and supervise shifts, ensuring proper coverage and smooth operations. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that motivates staff. Operations Manage and oversee all FOH operations during service. Ensure compliance with Safety and Sanitation Programs. Monitor daily operations and initiate corrective actions as needed. Provide stewardship of the dining areas and FOH facilities. Event & Community Engagement Coordinate and execute on-site and off-site catering events, ensuring seamless communication between FOH and kitchen team. Participate in local food events to promote the brand and engage the community. Financial & Inventory Management Estimate consumption and forecast FOH requirements. Maintain inventory of FOH supplies and manage ordering. Control costs, minimize waste, and implement strategies to improve productivity and sales. Job Requirements & Qualifications At least 2 years of experience as a FOH Manager or similar role. 5-10 years of experience in customer service leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) Experience with restaurant management software (Toast POS/Tables/Marketing & Loyalty and Restaurant365 preferred). Strong leadership, motivational skills and emotional intelligence. Excellent financial management, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding interpersonal and proactive communication skills across different media – face to face, email, text, phone, etc. Highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate guest and team needs. 90 Day Goals Lead full shifts independently. Implement quick wins (e.g., reducing wait times, improving table turnover). Start tracking key metrics (guest satisfaction, labor costs, upselling). Align FOH operations with financial and guest experience goals. Confidence with POS systems, reservation platforms, and reporting dashboards. Positive relationship with kitchen staff, FOH team, and leadership to establish trust and communication. Consistently demonstrate hospitality through warm greetings, attentive service, and proactive problem-solving, setting the standard for a culture where every decision prioritizes the guest experience. How Success Is Measured Employee retention and engagement are demonstrated by maintaining low turnover and fostering positive team morale. Training compliance is achieved when all staff are fully trained on service standards. Shift coverage is successful when scheduling runs smoothly with minimal last-minute changes. Labor cost control is within the established budget. Waste reduction managed, minimizing comped meals and reducing service-related losses. Consistently passing health inspections and audits. Number of accidents or violations remains low. Compensation & Benefits FOH Manager salary range is $55,000-$65,000 depending on experience. However, the total compensation package is a much greater value. A successful FOH Manager can increase earnings by meeting or exceeding the restaurant’s financial and service goals. A Rock Star FOH Manager can increase earnings by joining task forces and taking on additional responsibilities outside of the basic job function. Full-time FOH Managers have access to medical, dental, and vision coverage. ORH covers a portion of the HMO Medical Employee-Only plan each year. Upgrades or dependent coverage are employee-paid, as are dental and vision plans. Coverage begins on the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment.
