Furniture Sales Associate

Job Overview: The Sales Associate is responsible for providing customers with an excellent furniture buying experience. The Sales Associate’s responsibilities include representing the company, assisting customers by assessing their needs and helping them find the right product, and continuously updating their knowledge of the company products and policies. Responsibilities and Duties • Maintain a working knowledge of the company products and policies • Stay up to date on advertised sales events and financing promotions • Greet customers, respond to questions, and provide outstanding customer service • Assist customers in purchasing decisions, in particular room selections and design/style decisions • Cross sell products to increase purchase amounts • Present and explain promotions to customers, special financing plans, delivery procedures, and warranties • Input sales tickets into the retail software system per company guidelines • Manage financial transactions • Coordinate delivery between customer and the distribution/delivery system • Expedite the resolution of customer concerns to maximize satisfaction • Ensure an orderly appearance throughout the sales floor by cleaning, straightening and maintaining merchandise including, but not limited to accessorizing with new and existing lamps, pictures, florals and table top accessories. • Collaborate with the manager in keeping the floor properly tagged • Maintain a working knowledge of inventory codes, various stock levels, and purchase orders • Assist in maintaining and safeguarding an accurate inventory • Keep bar code labels on all merchandise • Ensure all merchandise movements have transfers, sales tickets, and RTV forms • Meet selling requirements and follow all rules as written in the company floor rule and sales guidelines • Achieve established sales goals and maintain a minimum productivity of $35,000 per month in sales • Review open sales order report by salesperson on a daily basis • Report to work and be ready to work by the scheduled shift start time • Other duties as assigned Requirements: • High School Diploma/GED • Strong computer skills • Strong communication, listening and follow up skills • Ability to move and lift heavy objects weighing 40 pounds • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 8 hours • Ability to work schedules that include some nights, mandatory Saturdays, some Sundays and all major holidays ( New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th Black Friday and Day after Christmas). • Must be punctual and reliable • Professional and positive demeanor • Ability to read and write English
