Motor Pump Mechanic

CEC Motor and Utility Services has an immediate opportunity for a qualified, experienced, and versatile Pump and Electric Motor Mechanic at our Service Center in Palmetto, FL.

This is a full-time opportunity and will be responsible for the disassembly, repair, and testing of pumps, AC motors, DC motors, and controls. Perform complete repair and overhaul on pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, and gearboxes. Utilize basic electrical test equipment to troubleshoot motors and pumps.

Requirements / Qualifications:
-High school graduate or equivalent.
-Electric motor and pump repair, 3 years (Preferred).
-3-5 years of experience dismantling, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors and generators, ac or dc.
-Applicant should be familiar with surge testing, hipot testing, use of megger, drop voltage tests, ac/dc theory, and ac and dc electric motor connections. Filling and filing paperwork is required.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, lift and carry up to 50 pounds without difficulty.
-Must be dependable (consistently report to work on time).

Responsibilities:
-Must be able to use a computer to access, input, and retrieve information.
-Acts as a front-line CEC representative while providing outstanding customer service.
-Interacts with customers and or crews at job sites.
-Provides exceptional service to each CEC customer…and constantly strives to improve that level of service.
-Keeps facility clean and orderly. -Occasionally may be asked to perform other functions not particularly addressed in this posting.

Essential Job Functions:
-Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
-The person in this position needs to occasionally move about within the shop to gather materials.
-Constantly place and position small and large parts/materials during the diagnostic and repair process.
-The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
-Frequently moves material weighing up to 50 pounds across the shop for various needs.
