Visit our https://scf.edu/Administration/HumanResources/Benefits/default.asp for benefit details Job Summary The Advancement Associate is responsible for planning and implementing all special events (in person and virtual) related to capital campaign, fundraising, friend raising, and community events through communication strategies including but not limited to: social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blackbaud, e-newsletters, emails, and personal solicitations. The Advancement Associate for Events and Marketing is accountable for executing strategies that are focused on increasing financial support for unrestricted funds, student scholarships, academic programs, and building enhancements. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Plans and coordinates donor, prospect, and alumni gatherings and all aspects of event logistics and details. (In-Person and Virtual) • Implements, maintains, and analyzes prospective and current donors' communications strategies for events and fundraising, i.e.: Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge marketing mailing, Giving Tuesday, Facebook, 24-Hour Giving Challenge, employee giving campaign, alumni annual campaign. • Develops and executes a comprehensive plan for engaging donors' participation and cultivating philanthropy, soliciting new friends for SCF support and creating a prospect list. • Develops and implements social media campaigns for Foundation accounts in Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter) and LinkedIn. • Works collaboratively with SCF faculty and staff to develop and execute appropriate events to increase prospective donor engagement and giving. • Create content for online giving opportunities such as peer-to-peer fundraising pages, text-to-donate functionality, and virtual event pages through Eventbrite, GiveSmart, Raiser's Edge, WordPress, Elementor, and other appropriate platforms. • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement to develop a budget for each event, create and submit purchase orders to the Senior Finance Manager and maintain accurate and detailed records of all financial transactions for each event. • Collaborate with Advancement Team and outsourced vendors to develop an effective marketing plan to increase ticket sales and attendance at each event. • Assists Community Outreach Coordinator to recruit and train event committees and volunteers to support all events and activities as appropriate. • Works collaboratively with Accounting and Finance Manager on bid, selection, and hiring process, adhering to SCFF processes and procedures, and manages and directs contractors and vendors before, during, and after events. • Delivers quality customer services to both internal and external constituents in a professional, helpful and courteous manner. • Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends as required. • Reliable transportation required. • Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two (2) years of direct interaction with the public or community or salesmanship is required. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Two years experience in events management and/or sales relations preferred. Proven success at raising private funds or proven sales experience(s). Evidence of exceptional entrepreneurial, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills required. Previous experience in a college/university or not-for-profit setting is desirable. • Supervisory Experience: One to two years of supervisory experience is preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram/chart, or schedule form. • Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) is required. Experience using database software is required. Knowledge of Blackbaud Software preferred. Extensive social media experience required, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Intermediate level graphic design experience preferred. • Certificates and Licenses: No certifications required. Responsibility for People and Property: Responsibility for people as assigned. Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the database. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: This position has routine contact with current State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Administrators, faculty, staff and students. • External Contacts: Vendors, community leaders, area businesses, donors, prospective donors, Private/Family/Community Foundations, MJC/MCC/SCF Alumni and SCF friends.
