Specialist, Recruitment Salary: $15.80 - $23.20 Hourly Location: Works all three Campuses Job Type: Department: Enrollment Services Job Number: Closing: Continuous Job Summary The Recruitment Specialist conducts and assists the coordination of recruitment and outreach activities providing services that will facilitate the transition of new students into the college community. The position's purpose is to represent and increase SCF awareness throughout the region. This staff member will meet with prospective students, various groups on and off campuses, and other contacts to promote all opportunities offered at SCF. Particular attention will be given to special and non-traditional populations that add to the geographical diversity of the student body throughout the region. A significant part of the recruitment process will be establishing and nurturing relationships that can serve as a conduit for students to learn about SCF and the entire portfolio offered throughout the institution's 3 campuses and Online program. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the SCF offerings, to include programs, services, and engagement opportunities. 2. Represent SCF and deliver recruitment presentations at SCF and in community. Implement programming to recruit, identify and track students interested in SCF. Adhere to the specific admission targets and fulfill identified recruitment goals. Recruitment populations will include but not be limited to business and industry partners, adult learners, middle school, and other special populations as identified. 3. Communicate with prospective students, applicants and parents via phone calls, emails, social media and mailings. Guide students and families through the admissions process. Meet with State College of Florida prospective students and families in a variety of settings. Follow-up with applicants to encourage submission of all required application materials, advanced tuition, etc. 4. Coordinate and participate in college recruitment initiatives both on the college campus and in the service area to include campus tours, workshops, and open house events. 5. Assist in the facilitation of new student orientation sessions and other orientation program activities. 6. Participate in the development of the annual college-wide recruitment and orientation calendar. Participate in the development of outreach and orientation publications, materials, and technologies. 7. Participate in the development and implementation of the institutional recruitment plan. Develop and implement strategies to: establish relationships with organizations, groups and individuals that can influence prospective students; identify prospective students and encourage them to apply for admission; and best utilize time, effort, and achieving recruitment goals. 8. Assist with calling, email and social media campaigns/communications to ensure students move successfully through the admissions and enrollment process. 9. Report statistical data on outreach initiatives/activities, inquiry and application numbers and conversion reports, and orientation as requested. 10. Serves on college-wide committees and advisory boards as assigned. 11. Position requires extensive regional travel; flexible schedule and some evening/weekend events will be required with ability to perform with limited supervision and independently during travel. 12. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Associate's degree required and two years related experience in sales, customer service, account management or higher education recruitment. Bachelor's degree is preferred. Knowledge of the related geographical area, local cultures, interests and needs of local residents preferred. Knowledge of collegiate recruitment, admissions, and registration practices preferred. • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required. Leadership experience preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents and professional journals. Ability to respond to technical questions and/or complaints from college leadership, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence and policy and procedures manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. • Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram/chart form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete changes in situations. • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, college database, e-mail, Internet, and reports retrieval software. Basic working knowledge of administrative software packages and possesses an ability to analyze system setup and demonstrate resolutions to technical issues.
