Job Summary This position is responsible for assisting the Director, College Readiness & Early College Programs in administering all aspects of the Florida Department of Education's College Reach-Out Program (CROP), SCF's Summer Bridge Program (SBP) as well as facilitating the transition to and retention in higher education of other special populations as needed. This position provides ongoing assistance and information to the College's most vulnerable youth populations in support of the College's student recruitment, retention, and completion goals. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Oversees the day to day operations of the College Reach-Out Program (CROP) to ensure compliance with FLDOE mandates and requirements set forth by the CROP grant, and works with the Director, College Readiness & Early College Programs to plan and deliver special programs, workshops, academic enrichment/tutoring services, fieldtrips, and events focused on college readiness. • Oversees the Summer Bridge Program application and enrollment process in close collaboration with the Admissions Office, Financial Aid Office, and the SCF Foundation, ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and deadlines. • Serves as a liaison between the college, schools and the community to increase enrollment of diverse populations in an effort to address the underrepresentation of certain groups in higher education in general, and at State College of Florida specifically. • Works collaboratively with Site Coordinators to identify, recruit, and retain eligible students from targeted populations who may not otherwise pursue or achieve postsecondary education without support and intentional outreach efforts. • Collects and maintains data, sign-in sheets, and other documents/materials necessary to draft and prepare quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports for submittion to FLDOE as requested by the Director, College Readiness & Early College Programs. • Responsible for maintaining the Student Access Database & CRM up-to-date, processing new student applications, and annually updating the FLDOE State Roster. • Supervises student employees and assists the Director, College Readiness & Early College Programs in the training and coordination of Site Coordinators, volunteers, and chaperones to ensure effective program operation and student success. • Develops collaborative working relationships with students and their parents/guardians through frequent contact and programming that highlights the steps necessary to become college ready. • Povides financial literacy information and assist students with completion of the FAFSA, to make informed decisions regarding college funding. • Determines student eligibility for State College of Florida Foundation Summer Bridge Program scholarships and makes award recommendations to the Director, College Readiness & Early College Programs. • Creates partnerships with agencies or institutions that will enhance the services provided by Special Programs. • Serves on committees and works on initiatives to advocate for first-generation, low-income and/or academically disenfranchised youth. • Maintains a mentoring/coaching role with CROP and SBP graduates who attend State College of Florida to enhance the likelihood of persistence and retention through timely degree completion. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: A Baccalaureate degree in education, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Three (3) years of experience working within a secondary or postsecondary educational institution, preferably within a community college setting, or an equivalent. • Supervisory Experience: One or more years of experience as a supervisor, with responsibility for hiring, firing, and assigning work,training new employees, and assisting others with problems, is required. • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, write, and speak the Spanish language preferred. • Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram/chart, or schedule form. • Computer Skills: The employee must have intermediate knowledge of word processing, internet, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. The employee must operate database software used by the department. Must have working knowledge of College email system. • Certificates and Licenses: The employee must have a valid Florida driver's license. Responsibility for People and Property: Serves as hiring and supervising manager of student employees, and oversees the onboarding and training process of Site Coordinators.
