Job Summary To help plan and execute a coordinated development strategy to increase private financial support through annual and major gift grant and scholarship fund-raising tasks aligning with Foundation's priorities and short and long-term fundraising objectives. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: - Working with the Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation and the Foundation Board, strategically designs, organizes and implements short-and long-term fund development plans to increase revenues to support the strategic direction of the College, to include Communications plan and Development plan for grants and scholarships. - Personally cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of mid-level through major gift prospects/donors. This includes developing SCFF donor/prospective donor/corporate relationships and attending community, chamber, economic development, alumni, and other non-profit events in region as directed by Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation. - Implements and manages the entire scope of the Foundation's grants and scholarship giving program. - Oversees the identification, recruitment, training and recognition of volunteers for Foundation scholarship readers. - Supervises the State College of Florida Foundation scholarship programs, staff member, processes, and scholarship software. Develops strategies, monitors and evaluates all scholarship fundraising and awarding activities, oversees the training of scholarship volunteers, scholarship marketing. Oversees the Federal and State compliance of scholarship awarding. - Leads the scholarship donor solicitation, scholarship document creation and scholarship donor stewardship and communication. - Monitors and evaluates all grants and scholarships fundraising activities to be sure goals are being met. Uses grant and scholarship data and industry benchmarks and practices. Utilizes results of evaluation to refine existing programs and to recommend and implement new and creative programs or methods to maximize revenues and participation and to identify high-capacity donors. - Trains and supervises SCF Foundation staff member(s) reporting to Director to ensure professional growth, delegation, empowerment, and appropriate recognition. - Recommends and manages annual grants and scholarships budgets, variance analysis, and grants revenue forecasts, and calendars for development and database departments. - Develops fundraising analysis and forecasting reports for the Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation to facilitate the foundation's mission, submitting annual grants and scholarships reports for approval by the Board of Directors and monthly grants and scholarships reports to the Board as appropriate. - Supervises grant development team(s) made up of College faculty, staff and others (including other collaborative non-profit organizations, co-trustees, trustees, family members, heirs, successor advisors, professional advisors, Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation; assists the team with formulation of project ideas and design; guides the writing team through internal procedures (i.e.: creating new funding opportunities to benefit strategic objectives or mission of Foundation); edits and enhances proposal presentation; refines the grant budgets, timelines and other documentation to meet specifications of funding sources . - Encourages faculty and staff participation in preparing grant proposals and administering awarded grants through presentations, recognitions and informal meetings. - Develops and maintains an ongoing grant submission plan for the Foundation, collaborates with Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation. - Oversee database accuracy, list preparation, donor/grantor research, ensures specialized donor or grantor search tools are purchased and utilized at their full potential. Provides verification of reporting accuracy to ensure SCFF database is scrubbed and procedures for modifying or removing incomplete, incorrect, inaccurately formatted, or repeated data in SCFF database is completed on a regular basis. - Actively participates in staff meetings and assists other staff members in the accomplishment of Departmental goals. - Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement & Executive Director, SCF Foundation. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and five years of increasingly responsible fundraising experience with demonstrated record of grant writing, designing campaigns (annual and major gifts) financial/sales success, and securing gifts, preferably in a college, university, non-profit organization, and/or foundation environment. - Supervisory Experience: One to two years of direct supervisory experience, including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, training and coaching is required. - Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to technical questions and/or complaints from College, leadership, prospective donors, donors, board members, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. - Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
