About Us

Modus Builders, a fully licensed and insured general contracting and construction management company proudly serving select clients in Manatee and Sarasota Counties, was founded by RJ Diaz in 2018. RJ Diaz completed his studies in Architectural History and Design at the Pennsylvania State University. After graduation, RJ travelled the US to oversee Bulgari boutique build-outs and got a taste of first-class upgrades.

After more than 20 years planning and coordinating high-end commercial and residential projects in NYC, RJ Relocated to Manatee County in 2016. Here, he worked with a local master builder, executing custom homes and remodeling projects in Siesta Key, Bradenton, Sarasota, and Longboat Key. RJ opened Modus Builders in 2018 and began operations in December of 2019. In its first year of operation, Modus Builders grosses $1,043,000 in sales and more than doubled sales in 2020. Modus Builders specializes in thoughtfully designed and high-quality custom homes, residential and commercial interiors, and large-scale renovations.
