The individual is expected to exercise professionalism and civility in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students. Initial rank and salary will be determined upon hire according to the college‘s salary schedule. (Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating knowledge of subject matter and using effective and innovative teaching techniques.) • Develops, maintains and promotes a positive, respectful and civil atmosphere among colleagues and members of the college-wide community to advance the mission of the college. • Performs all other duties as assigned by the proper authority. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Degree and credit hour requirements must be met in accordance with the criteria for accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. • Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Economics or Business with 18 graduate hours in Economics. • Preferred Qualifications Experience in both face-to-face and online instruction. Demonstrated teaching skills and subject knowledge preferably at the community college level. Five (5) plus years or equivalent teaching experience in the subject area. Experience in online instruction using Quality Matters. Active participation in professional activities and organizations. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse campus community. Experienced in curriculum development, review and assessment.
