Visit our https://scf.edu/Administration/HumanResources/Benefits/default.asp for benefit details Job Summary The Admissions Transfer and Evaluation Specialist guides incoming transfer, non-degree, pre-bachelor seeking and transient student applicants through the admissions process from inquiry through enrollment and course registration. This position is responsible for ensuring responsiveness to inquiries, streamlined admissions processing, accurate residency classifications for tuition purposes and effective enrollment campaigns. In addition, this position serves as the first point of contact for incoming transfer students offering them preliminary credit transfer evaluations, issuance of course registration permits, and acting as a liaison to academic departments when needed to ensure a seamless transition. In addition, this position determines admission eligibility of pre-bachelor applicants and advises non-eligible applicants on alternative academic pathways. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Acts as the first point of contact for all incoming and prospective transfer students. Supports transfer applicants throughout their entire admission process, including first term course registration. 2. Admits eligible applications and ensures that all required admissions documents have been received to complete enrollment for all transfer, transient, pre-bachelor seeking and non-degree applicants. 3. Reviews prospective transfer student credits for possible SCF transfer. Advises on preliminary credit evaluation and acts as liaison to the academic departments as need to provide a seamless registration experience. 4. Performs degree audits to review the accuracy of transfer course equivalencies to meet SCF academic requirements and advises students on possible program pathways. Stays abreast on all transfer admissions policies and procedures to best advise incoming students. 5. Evaluates and issues course registration permits as needed for newly admitted transfer, non-degree, and transient applicants. Registers students in classes as needed. 6. Evaluates and determines admission eligibility of pre-bachelor program applicants. Reviews all academic history including GPA in order to determine if an applicant may be accepted into the bachelor program. Updates curriculum decision in Banner to reflect new program and corresponds with accepted students. 8. Advises bachelor program applicants who are not admissible on alternative program options. Schedules appointments and acts as the liaison to complete any additional enrollment tasks in order to retain these students. 9. Conducts admissions appointments with prospective transfer students on an individual basis. Hosts transfer student workshops and information sessions. Travels to all three SCF campuses to host appointments with incoming and prospective transfer applicants. 10. Facilitates transfer orientations tailored for incoming transfer students and hosts transfer information sessions. 11. Maintains the admissions transfer website. Assists in the creation of transfer recruitment publications and materials. Participates in college wide recruitment initiatives which include open house and admissions express events. 12. Collaborates with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Coordinator to ensure quality online transfer orientation material and email communication content. Builds transfer appointments and events using the CRM. 13. Reports statistical data on all appointment and transfer applicant activities to include admissions application numbers, residency, appointments, telephone and walk-in inquiries. 14. Determines an applicant's initial residency status for tuition purposes after review and verification of supporting documentation. Maintains knowledge of current residency guidelines as put forward by state statute and SCF policy. Accesses DMV and other resources as needed to ensure an accurate residency classification. 15. Assists students through the departmental phone queue, email inquiries, text messaging and assisting at the front desk. This involves processing time sensitive information including, but not limited to applications, residency documentation, course permits, and additional required admissions documents, etc. and may involve evening hour coverage on a rotating basis. Keeps abreast of all SACS, Florida Department of Education and College and/or departmental policies and procedures. 16. Performs other duties as assigned.
