The instructional faculty member will uphold high academic standards and is expected to act professionally and respectfully in all academic affairs, including their interactions with students, colleagues, and the community. The initial rank and salary will be determined upon hiring. The essential job functions for this position include teaching courses, using creative methods for instruction, supporting sustainability initiatives, embracing diversity, maintaining a professional appearance, managing attendance and punctuality, and preparing teaching materials. The faculty member must also meet scheduled classes, keep accurate student records, hold office hours, attend meetings, help develop departmental goals, serve on committees, coordinate substitute instructors when needed, and contribute to a safe and respectful educational environment. Additionally, engaging in professional development activities and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues are important. To qualify for this position, candidates should have at least a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, three years of experience as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant, and hold a valid license in Florida. NBCOT Certification and teaching experience are preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate the effective use of instructional technology and familiarity with current software and hardware. The work environment generally features a moderate noise level while the physical demands require sitting, talking, reaching, and occasionally lifting.
