THIS IS NOT A COUNSELING POSITION. Part-time contract position - 8 to 24 hours per week, flexible schedule Monday-Friday based on established office hours. Candidate needs to be able to work at the Bradenton and Sarasota Campuses. Bradenton 5840 26th St W. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Interview DUI program clients using standardized criteria to determine whether there are sufficient risk factors of alcohol or drug abuse dependence that a referral to a program is warranted. • Reports findings/results/recommendations of interviews to outside agencies as required. • Works up to 24 hours per week as determined by budget and current number of clients registered in the program. Job Qualifications Personnel Certification. The program shall employ only DUI evaluators who are certified by the Department. Temporary certificate must be granted by DHSMV in order to proceed with onboarding at SFC. Every DUI evaluator and shall possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in human services, nursing or a doctorate in medicine (M.D.). They shall possess a minimum of four thousand hours experience in mental health/rehabilitative direct client services or medical care specific to substance abuse. OR -A master's degree in human services, nursing or a doctorate in medicine (M.D.) may be substituted for two thousand hours of experience. Methadone maintenance experience shall not be considered -A Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) status, a Certified Criminal Justice Addiction Professional (CCJAP) status, or fourteen thousand hours of experience in human services may be substituted for a degree that is not in human services, but shall not preclude the requirements for a minimum of a bachelor's degree. Each beginning evaluator shall complete 20 hours of Department provided preservice training. Each certified evaluator shall thereafter complete 24 hours of Department approved training biennially to maintain certification. Applicants must also possess: Proficient typing, oral, and written communication skills. Computer and internet literacy. Strong attention to detail. Organizational & time management skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure. Dependability/reliability. -In addition to completing the preservice training for DUI Evaluator status. Each certified DUI Evaluator shall thereafter complete 24 hours of Department approved training biennially to maintain the DUI Evaluator certification.
