The individual is expected to exercise professionalism and civility in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students. This position is subject to grant funding. (Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating knowledge of subject matter and using effective and innovative teaching techniques.) • Develops, maintains and promotes a positive, respectful and civil atmosphere among colleagues and members of the college-wide community to advance the mission of the college. • Performs all other duties as assigned by the proper authority. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Degree and credit hour requirements must be met in accordance with the criteria for accreditation of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. 18 graduate semester hours in Biology or related Biological Science subfield + Master's degreeorA Master's degree with a major in Biology or a related Biological Science subfieldorA Doctoral degree with a major in Biology, Zoology or a related Biological Science subfieldorA Doctor of Dental Science, Dental Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy or Medicine • Other Skills and Abilities: Must demonstrate effective use of instructional technology and be familiar with current office hardware and software. Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
