Director, Career Accelerator Salary: $51,720.00 - $81,718.00 Annually Location: Bradenton Department: Academic Office Job Number: 202300252 Closing: Continuous Job Summary Director, Career Accelerator will lead the college-wide initiative to advance students from education to employment. The objective of the Career Accelerator is to integrate career readiness and employment success into the SCF college experience. The candidate will leverage the Florida Guided Pathways Initiative and NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) competencies to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive program to achieve and measure successful career outcomes. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Design and develop curriculum and programming to provide a framework based on the Florida Pathways Initiative so that all students are actively engaged in career readiness. • Collaborate with internal stakeholders through Guided Pathways to develop a robust career exploration to placement experience for all SCF students. • Create interactive and hands-on seminar classes, workshops, events, and programming that focus on career exploration, planning, and job preparation based on the NACE competencies. • Implement a build-as-you-go career roadmap for students with deliverables (e.g., skills assessments, career exploration, resume, informational interviews, etc.) at predetermined milestones throughout each SCF degree program. • Develop the Career Accelerator framework to integrate individual milestones with deliverables such as resume, cover letter, portfolio, mock interviewing to ensure that every student completes the building blocks necessary to be career ready. • Coordinated the development of services such as career coaching, resume development, mock interviews, portfolio planning, salary negotiating for one-on-one support. • Establish processes to connect students and employers with internships, micro-internships, and other experiential learning for credit or not-for-credit. • Provide guidance and support to area of interest communities in the development of guest speakers, job shadowing, site visits, and other immersive activities for exposure to career exploration. • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to engage them in development and execution of the Career Accelerator. • Work collaboratively with the Director for Career and Technical Education to create relationships with employers to provide potential mentoring, industry specific programming, and pipeline to internships and jobs. • Establish relationships with faculty and staff to communicate with and engage them in all facets of the Career Accelerator. Cultivate relationships with faculty to develop them as influencers in the development and communication of the programs. • Oversee and manage appropriate budgets to include Fund I and potential grant budgets. Seek out opportunities for local, state and federal funds to support programming. • Develop organization structure; recruit and hire team members, as appropriate, to deliver content and services to students attending State College of Florida. • Provide guidance through Guided Pathways to identify appropriate resources and costs necessary to scale the Career Accelerator. • Implement tools, communications, support system for use by students and other internal and external stakeholders. • Develop and maintain ongoing communication with key stakeholders and vett programming to a Guided Pathways steering committee. • Identify key performance indicators, develop matrix for reporting program objectives and report on a regular basis to supervisor and college leadership. • Other duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, and at least four years of experience successfully managing a career center and/or corporate training program; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational skills and ability to work with and network with a broad array of internal and external stakeholders. Ability to conceptualize and implement. • Supervisory Experience: This position requires experience in developing the structure for an organization, managing and leading employees and student workers. • Certificates and Licenses: Valid Florida driver's license. Work will require travel throughout the service area. Responsibility for People and Property: Provides supervision to administrative staff and tenants for the Center. Makes annual budget recommendations and tracks related grant expenditures; handles funds related to incubator/accelerator operations leading toward eventual self-sufficiency. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: This position has routine contact with students and all levels of SCF administration, faculty, and staff. • External Contacts: This position has routine contact with local, regional, and national employers and community partner organizations, donors, and grantors. Attendance Standards: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota employees are expected to attend their work assignments and schedules at all times, in accordance with College Rules and Procedures. Training: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota employees are expected to attend College-provided training sessions and meetings when deemed necessary. Continuous Improvement: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota employees are expected to give attention to continuous assessment and improvement of the position's assigned set of duties and responsibilities.
