Coordinator, Retention and Assessment & Testing Salary: $41,453.00 - $65,495.00 Annually Location: Bradenton Job Type: Full Time Department: Retention Job Number: 202300195 Closing: Continuous Visit our https://scf.edu/Administration/HumanResources/Benefits/default.asp for benefit details Job Summary The Coordinator, Retention and Assessment & Testing under the supervision of the Director, Retention and College & Career Success will collaborate with academic advising, faculty, enrollment management, and student services personnel to increase student engagement, retention and success. The Retention Coordinator will be responsible for college-wide retention programming, supporting college retention initiatives and technology solutions. The Retention Coordinator will provide oversight and direction to all activities and staff of the College's Testing Centers. Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: • Tracks student engagement metrics to identify gaps and process improvement opportunities to promote and increase student persistence and retention. • Directs and oversees all activities of the Assessment and Testing Centers. Supervises staff of the Assessment and Testing Centers on all college campuses. Ensures customer service excellence for all Testing Center constituents. • Collaborates with academic and student services staff to ensure a seamless testing experience for all students to include Disability Resource Center, TASC, faculty members, and other proctored exams. • Assists in identifying students who are most at risk of not completing their educational goals and recommend strategies and activities to improve retention for these student populations. • Collaborates with Coordinator, Enrollment Services and Coordinator, College and Career Success to develop measurable retention strategies and action plans to enhance student progress to degree completion. • Analyzes data and provides recommendations for retention initiatives based on official student persistence/learning/satisfaction data. • Analyzes outcomes and retention metrics for student populations that engage with SSEM support resources such as College and Career Success, Financial Aid, TASC, DRC, and divisional grants. • Provides updates regarding retention initiatives and collaborative efforts necessary to ensure retention plan success as directed. • Promotes and supports the use of the College's retention technology.. • Communicates available support services resources for faculty and staff to reference when needing retention assistance. • Facilitates collaboration with cross functional areas to promote enhanced access and use of support resources for on-campus and on-line students. • Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and two or more years of experience or equivalent combination. Experience constructing and analyzing data sets required. Knowledge of higher education retention metrics preferred. • Supervisory Experience: Two or more years of experience as a “lead” employee, with responsibility for scheduling and assigning work, facilitating teams, training employees, and assisting others with problems, is preferred. • Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc. • Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, Internet, presentation, web development/editing software; Web conferencing; imaging software and hardware. Experience using enrollment management technology solutions, including CRM, retention, web-based, and online applications preferred. • Certificates and Licenses: None required. Responsibility for People and Property: Supervises student employees working to support the College's Solution Center(s). Ability to develop budgets using sound financial information to work within the financial framework of the organization. Responsibility for Communication: • Internal Contacts: Routine contact with all levels of SCF faculty and staff; frequent contact with students and with other SCF administrative and support departments. • External Contacts: Routine contact with vendors and other colleges; occasional contact with professional organizations, general public, and professionals appropriate for discipline.
